Training, Guidance and Counselling for Rescue Dogs from Abroad

What does “rescue dog from abroad” mean?

Dogs from international rescue backgrounds bring very different life experiences with them.
Some lived freely in cities, villages or near beaches, others as farm dogs, chained dogs or shelter dogs. Some already had a home, others were born in a shelter.

What they all share is not their country of origin – but the challenge of finding orientation in a completely new world, with new rules, expectations and stimuli.

This is exactly where my work begins.

My approach to working with rescue dogs

I have worked with dogs from both domestic and international rescue backgrounds for many years.

My focus is not on quick fixes, but on understanding, safety and realistic expectations – for both dogs and humans. Not every dog needs immediate training. Not every behaviour is a “problem” that needs to be fixed.

My goal is always the same:
first understand – then guide – then support in a targeted way.

How I support you and
your dog

Every path is different – and it should fit the individual dog.
That’s why we start with assessment and orientation, not with pressure.

Individual Training (60 min) & Online Consultation (45 min)

Personal support for uncertainty, fear, aggression or overwhelm in everyday life.
We analyse situations where they actually occur – at home, outdoors or online.

Suitable for:

  • newly adopted rescue dogs

  • long-standing challenges

  • insecurity, stress or lack of orientation

Before group courses or further steps make sense, clarity is essential.

In the assessment, we take a joint look at your dog’s background, everyday life, stressors and resources, and create a realistic training and support plan.

Ideal as a first step if you are unsure what your dog truly needs.

Personality Assessment for Mixed Breeds & Human–Dog Matching

A structured assessment to clarify expectations, identify strengths and find suitable paths – especially before adoption or when uncertainty exists.

Answer 17 specific questions online in 3 minutes and gain deep insight into your dog's personality.

Additional helpful tests:

Provides insight into your dog’s background, breed-related tendencies, possible health risks and inherited conditions – to support understanding, not labelling. It can also offer first clarity for dogs that show strong fear or defensive behaviour at the vet. The more we know about your dog, the fewer assumptions we need to make – and the better we can prevent potential problems.
